Let’s respect the mortal remains of the late Kpandai MP. Chairman Kennedy denies being disrespectful and fires back at the Kpandai NDC
In response to the controversies over the funeral of the late MP of Kpandai Hon Lipkalmor, the constituency chairman of NPP took to social media to intellectually ask sensitive questions which he believed would help give a deserving final funeral right to the late MP of the constituency. Among these, he questions the neglect of responsibility of the current MP for the late MP’s funeral activities, the sudden change of the funeral grounds from the birth town called Najero to the district capital Kpandai, and others.
He called for the honor of the late Kpandai MP with the dignity and respect he deserves. Chairman Kenedy’s heartfelt plea to the NDC is a call to uphold the sanctity of this solemn moment. Instead of indulging in political maneuvering, let us focus on giving our late MP a final farewell befitting his legacy. It’s disheartening to witness the politicization of such a poignant occasion, as the essence of tradition and community unity is overshadowed by partisan agendas.
The chairman argued that the late MP would have been fully honored if the funeral activities were carried out at Najero where he was born and even lived in his last days before his sudden demise in Tamale. This will have seen a lot of traditions on display and the family and elders felt belonged. But in their quest to score political points desperately, the NDC had hijacked the entire process and decided to have the funeral performed at Kpandai where they will get the numbers they need to cheer their flagbearer and Najero only serves as a graveyard where the late MP remains will only be buried.
The family and elders of Najero will only become spectators in a funeral they could have control ones NDC is bent on carrying it out in Kpandai.
What even came as a shocker was when the current MP Nsalah refused to serve as the chairman of the funeral planning committee for the late MP’s funeral.
Chairman Kennedy concluded by asserting that it is quite evident that NDC is only interested in using the late MP’s funeral to project their invited flag bearer at Kpandai where the population is high which he sees as unfortunate. He added that we all pause for a moment, and in the silence of our hearts, honor the cherished memory of the late Kpandai MP.
With each word, Chairman Kenedy’s impassioned plea echoes the depth of our sorrow and the fervor of our respect. Amidst the tumult of controversy, his voice rings out like a clarion call, urging us to embrace the fragility of life and the solemnity of death. Yet, in the face of such profound loss, we find ourselves ensnared in the web of political intrigue which he sees as unfortunate! For the need to preserve tradition and the respect he has for tradition and culture, he will always find a way to let it stand tall for the benefit of society.
